Game Highlights I missed the first two games on Saturday, so I can only relay what I heard about them. In the first game, Jenny scored for the Inferno on a penalty kick, and the game ended in a 1 - 1 tie. In the second game, we were led in scoring by Jenny again with 4 goals, followed by Nikki with 1. My sources tell me that Jackie played a fantastic game (or rather, two games!), and the Inferno won the second game 5 - 3. I hear both games were really fun to watch, and a great level of competition. Sunday's game was another tie, with no score. The Inferno really dominated the field, and made several really terrific shots, but the clock ran out before we could sink one. The defense was in top form, and the ball rarely made it past them, but when it did, Jazz was on it. Kenney did an unbelievable job of keeping the ball out of our side of the field. When she clears the ball, our offense has to run to catch up! I think she could put the ball in the goal from mid-field! Great job, Lauren! Overall, our team finished third in this tournament. But even better than winning, it felt great to watch the girls play together so well as a team. Coach John, Coach Neil, and Coach Sean (as well as Coach Ryan) have really done a fantastic job with these girls. I didn't get as many pictures as I usually do because of the angle of the sun at the beginning of the game, so apologies to the people I didn't catch this time. |
